Information
"What would you care to know?"
City Name: Brandis Meath
Birthplace: Somewhere in the Skatay Mountains
Nationality: Dalmascan
Height: 6'1"
Residence: Mist, Limsa Lomnisa.
Profession: Historian, archaeologist, occasional monster hunter, alleged conman.
Areas of study: Ivalician History, Lost Civilizations, Lost Arts.
Combat skills: Skilled Lancer. Decent shot with a gun. Surprisingly stealthy.Brandis, to hear him tell it, is a historian and archaeologist of some renown - and has managed to do so without institutional funding until recently. While there are numerous rumors about him, others accuse him of being a thief and trickster. Much of his history before the fall of Rabanastre is opaque, his name only coming to prominence after the city has fallen. While some of his writings, such as The Lost Arts of Western Othard or The Failed Settlements are respectable works, he was seen as a fringe academic due to his instance on the historicity of Ivalice (later vindication of this would bring grumblings about a "damned theater troupe".)Eventually, Brandis would find himself in Eorzea - spending most of his time working for whoever had the gil to hire him, rather than for research's own sake; gaining a reputation less for his academic work and more as a treasure hunter, who's artifacts were up for sale to the highest bidder. Though to hear it from some, this is who he always was – with any pretenses of being a historian being a fraud.
